This celestial white tiger is worshipped as the Guardian of the West, symbolizing the virtue of righteousness as well as power and army. Legends have spoken how Byakko is proven a powerful emperor of beasts with enormous skills, crowned with a 王 on his forehead which is 'King' by definition. Byakko is associated by the Chinese with the element of metal, the season of Autumn, and the power to wield the wind. It's been also said that Byakko would only appear when an emperor was proven ruling his country with absolute virtue or if there was peace throughout the world.These modern days, the act of worshipping done towards Byakko and the other Four Symbols has been mostly replaced by the worship of Four Heavenly Kings of Buddhism. However, the use of white tigers as a symbol persisted. After all, white tigers are without doubt impressive existence in itself.Now, heed to these words....

BACKGROUNDYears ago, perhaps centuries even, he was a guardian tiger spirit assigned to protect valleys in several cold, high mountain areas in Japan. It was no easy task, but neither had he once found it vexatious in any way. After all, he was born with the almighty power to do so, capable to fend off demons with a swing of his tail and his fear-inducing roar. His razor-sharp claws and enormous physique were no joke. Plus, the villagers around this valley would always chant his name and beg for protection, grateful for his divine presence. He gained respect and the worship he deserved. Why should he complain?That..... well, until these very humans slowly shifted to preach those appreciation for a different name.Getting less and less admiration left the white tiger frowning. Dissatisfied. Puzzled. What was this humiliating decline of followers? What happened to the abundant reverence he used to receive? It got worse the more neglecting these humans were towards the mountain forests. It was as if his position was dropped from the Heaven's throne to somewhere of peasant's level. Outrageous. He was being taken for granted.He should've served still as the symbol of virtue and kept the valley safe regardless of the humans' reaction. That was what entities with good ailments should have done. But he was a prideful being, and these humans had done an act he deemed insolent. Alas, he decided to also do as he wished and left his position as the guardian spirit of the valley. With his power, he turned himself into a human and started to blend in, going by the name Sato Yukitora.What made these humans so arrogant that they no longer respected a divine creature? He demanded to know....After spending almost a year in the human society, Yukitora realized that humans were indeed that low. He had seen the bad, the good, and everything else going on among this mortal race. Not everything was bad, but he found less good than bad. There, he started to be picky towards the beings deserving his protection. The passing criteria? His mood to decide. One time, he could feel like saving an entire city due to a kind act of one man. The next day, he could let a village suffer great loss due to bad weather. To gain his favor isn't hard, but he won't let it fall too easy.That is the changes in his treatment to humans. Meanwhile, the non-humans started to pique his interest more.Yukitora had known that he wasn't the only mythical being among the humans. But he didn't expect to meet so many. Even less had he expected to meet those with conditions far pitiable than humans, caused by said humans themselves. Yukitora started to use his power to help these poor non-humans more than he did the humans. It wasn't out of kindness, but simply out of annoyance of seeing weaker non-humans being trampled on. The news of his small action was heard by a certain dhampir, who then offered a partnership to protect their kind while living in this mortal realm. Yukitora agreed as the offer was of benefits for all parties.For that reason, he started running a bar and a brothel as his business and mission in disguise not long after. He employed both humans and non-humans as his workers, mostly unfortunate ones. He formed partnerships with the rich to keep his business up and running safely. Why a bar and a brothel, you asked? Humans and non-humans share one thing in common, which is finding pleasure in seeking fun. Both facilities are proven the best place to gain information for survival as well to provide shelter. Besides... he too, preferred to both gain pleasure and fulfill his duty. Two birds, one stone.
RELATION
OOGAWA KISHŌHITANI
A young master and a VIP at Yukitora's bar. In formal business introductions, Kishohitani is one of the formidable business partners for Yukitora's bar. Behind the scene, Kishohitani and Yukitora are more than just friendly drinking buddies. Deeper, they also share a few more secrets and intimacy... which are only known by them in bed. Kishohitani gains Yukitora's favor and receives protection personally from the Byakko. At this point, Yukitora might as well work as Kishohitani's (and his kitties') bodyguard.
AKI
A gashadakuro. Both being fellow non-humans, there's sometimes a clash between Aki's malevolent tendencies and Yakitora's proud arrogance. The Byakko kept a close eye to prevent Aki from causing any damage harming his 'territory' and properties. That includes keeping Aki from devouring Kishohitani and other innocent humans in his building. Yakitora had him work as a security in his bar. That way, he could keep Aki in check, filter the undead's potential meal, and pass names of humans for Aki to swallow for the sake of the non-humans.

The bartender at Yukitora's bar. His most trustworthy assistant. She manages the bar during Yukitora's absence. Possesses an immeasurable patience in facing rude customers (and Yukitora's own weird antics).
AELIUS HAYDEN ZEPHYR
A dhampir of another world. Hayden was the person to offer a partnership with Yukitora and encouraged the Byakko to build a bar and a brothel in the first place (In his defense, the brothel was Yukitora's initiative). This bar served not only for humans' entertainment, but mainly for a hub for their immortal kind. Yukitora stays in contact with Hayden from time to time, exchanging words and news spread among other non-humans. Sometimes, Hayden would pass a list of names for Yakitora to help track... or even eliminate. It isn't hard considering how a bar is easily a place to network.
